“Teenage Rage” is the story of teenagers.
Once upon a time there were no teenagers. The world was made up of
children and adults. Then along comes a brilliant young scientist,
Pee Wee Merlin. His two most important inventions are a magical
youth serum and teenagers. In this way he can never grow up to
confront the responsibilities of becoming an adult and he is able to
surround himself with company his own age.
His teenagers were almost perfect. The boys were polite, considerate
and perfect gentlemen. The girls were sweet, demure and wholesome in
every way. However, Pee Wee made one serious mistake. He created the
teenager “Rebel”. She was different. She loved “Rock and Roll”. When
Pee Wee fell for Rebel he lost focus and let Freedom, Music,
Liberation, Fashion, etc out in the teenage world and they created
havoc.
Teenagers developed from the “Rock and Roll” of the 1950s through
the hippy stage, the peace movement and the surfing craze of the
60s, the liberation and disco of the 70s, the material greed of the
80s and the information and entertainment age of the 90s.
Finally Fate has to step in and changes the direction of Pee Wee’s
intentions.
“Teenage Rage” is a lively musical with stunning costumes,
outlandish hair-do’s, fabulous “Rock and Roll” dancing and music
combined with a mixture of humorous and serious circumstances.
Bright Lights Performance School is a talented group of 10 to 14
year olds from the Byron area. Their first production “Everybody
Loves Candy” was a great success. “Teenage Rage” builds upon that
experience and is certain to entertain you whether you were born in
the 1940s or the 1990s.
